Elvan came back this week and took a really nice bird today, 23 pounds, 10.5 in. beard and 1 inch sharp spurs, from the looks of this fellow he has been fighting, some of his tail feathers missing and beard broken a bit.

Snood or whatever it's called was about 3 inches long so older bird for sure.  Pictures to follow but just wanted to share the news.  I haven't been out yet at all, but glad someone finally got a bird here.  Not the biggest one I've seen this year but no piker for sure!

I have finaly made it to the computer.

Here is my story and I'm sticking to it.

I arrived at Bell-E-Acres Monday afternoon. Changed into camo and hit the woods. About 5:00PM until dark. Didn't hear or see a thing. I said " O-No not again. The last time I was over the nights were down in the 30's. Didn't hear or see anything. Not even a hen.
Tuesday morning one gooble at day break. Then no more. Did have one hen feed by. So that was a inprovement.
Around 10:00AM started hearing goobles. Was on land I couldn't hunt. I call a few times witch he did gooble back. But he was not moving to me. After a hour and a half. I grabed three of my calls, my chair, and gun. Jumped out of one blind and run to a different one. This one was closer to him. I changed to a different call. Called softly a few times, witch he goobled back and sounded like me was coming. Like I said he was off of Bell-E-Acres.
He stopped goobleing, so I thought he was close. Sure enough he came down the hill, though a fence. I let him get about 10ft inside Bell-E-Acres and BOOM.

And thats my story.

For Linda and JW, he came through the fence at the spring, just before you go down the old wagon road in front of the cedar woods.  That bird not only went through a fence he crossed the spring.  So much for fences and water hanging up a bird...the Toms are henned up right now, so any lonesome sounding hen is getting attention.

This big boy had been roaming to all the hens, crossed us and would go on Miss Jo's too.  He didn't gather a harem but sure stayed busy...LOL!
